Washed off Bar – 01/11/2015 – 16:40 to

Police reported that three people had been washed off the Thornton Bar. Whakatane Rescue with 5 crew was tasked to assist and an All Stations call made for other assistance.  Two good samaritans offered to assist with the search.  Conditions were good with no significant swell.  Police advised at 16.56hrs that the people were safe and the rescue was stood down.
