Fuel problem – 12/09/2024 – 1815 to 2030 (52)
A boat with 5 POB reported at the Vents ( South of White Is ) with a fuel problem and requested assistance. The call was heard by another boat who offered to help. The stricken vessel was taken in tow to 12nm North of Whakatane where Whakatane Rescue II, which had been launched, took the tow and brought the boat safely back to Whakatane. A big thank you to the good samaritan.
Engine problem – 12/09/2024 – 1340 to 1440 (51)
A boat with 3 POB reported 1nm North of the Thornton Bar with an engine problem. The call was heard by another boat who offered to help. Conditions were good with a 10kt Northwest wind and no significant swell. The stricken vessel was towed safely back to Whakatane. A big thank you to the good samaritan.

A 7m boat with 3 POB reported off Kohi Pt with a blown water hose and requested assistance. Conditions were good with a 5kt Southwest wind and no significant swell. Whakatane Rescue II was tasked and launched. The boat was located and towed back to Whakatane.

A boat with 5 POB reported at the Raurimus with an engine problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was launched, located the boat and towed it back to Whakatane.

A boat with 1 POB reported off Coastlands with an overheating engine. and requested assistance Another vessel heard the call and offered to help. Conditions were good with a Southerly wind of 10kts and an outgoing tide. The stricken vessel was towed back across the bar. A big thank you to the good samaritan.
