Engine problem. – 04/11/2022 – 9:09 to 12:30

A boat reported at White Island with àn engine problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was launched, located the vessel and towed it safely back to Whakatane.

Engine problem. – 04/10/2022 – 12:23 to 12:55

A boat reported off the Whakatane Bar with an engine problem and requested assistance. The call was heard by another boat who offered to help. The stricken vessel was taken in tow and both boats returned safely back across the Whakatane Bar. A big thank you to the good samaritan.

Flat battery. – 04/10/2022 – 7:55 to 9:27

A jetski 2km off the Thornton Bar reported a flat battery and requested a jump start. Whakatane Rescue II was launched and proceeded towards the area. The jetski then advised he had managed to get the engine started and was returning to shore. Whakatane Rescue II was stood down and returned to Whakatane.

A boat off Kohi Pt reported an engine problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was tasked and towed the boat safely back across the Whakatane Bar.
