Engine problem – 12/29/2022 – 14:45 to 16:36

A boat reported behind the Eastern end of Whale Is with an engine problem and requested assistance. The call was heard by another vessel who offered to help. The stricken vessel was taken under tow and both boats returned safely back to Whakatane. A big thank you to the good samaritan.

Fuel problem – 12/28/2022 – 7:00 to 8:45

A boat reported behind Whale Is with a fuel problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was launched and towed the vessel back safely across the Whakatane Bar.

Steering problem – 12/27/2022 – 13:30 to 27/01/2023

A boat reported at the Raurimus that it had lost its steering and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was launched, located the vessel and towed it safely back to Whakatane.

Boat observed drifting – 12/27/2022 – 11:05 to 12:00

A boat wirh 3 POB and no power was seen drifting towards the Whakatane Bar. It was observed by another boat who towed it back to the ramp at the wharf. A big thank you to the good samaritan.

Fuel problem – 12/24/2022 – 7:52 to 9:10

A boat reported at the 30m mark off Kohi Pt with a fuel problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was tasked, located the vessel and towed it safely back to Whakatane..
