A boat at Whale Is reported a burst steering hose and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was launched and towed the vessel safely back to Whakatane.

A boat reported North of Whale Is with a fuel problem and requested assistance . Whakatane Rescue II was launched and towed the vessel safely back to Whakatane.

A boat reported 2km from the Raurimus with a mechanical problem and requested a tow back to Whakatane. Whakatane Rescue II was launched, located the vessel and towed it safely back across the bar.

A boat reported off the Radio Masts with a battery problem and requested assistance. A jump start by Whakatane Rescue II was unsuccessful so the boat was towed safely back to Whakatane. 

A boat reported off the Ohope Golf Club with an engine problem and requested assistance. An All Stations call was made by the Coastguard Radio Operator. Another boat heard the call and offered to help. The stricken vessel was taken under tow and both boats returned safely back in to Ohiwa Harbour. A big thank you to the good samaritan.
