A boat reported 12nm North of Kohi Pt with an electrical problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was launched, located the vessel and towed it safely back to Whakatane.

A boat reported between the Raurimus and Whakatane with a battery problem and requested assistance. The call was heard by another vessel who offered to help. The stricken vessel was taken under tow but then the Good Samaritan also broke down with an engine problem. Whakatane Rescue II was launched and towed the first boat back to Whakatane.
