At 1108hr a 5m boat with 2 POB reported engine problems at the 22m mark off Opotiki Bar and required a tow back to port. Sea conditions were reasonable with a 5-10kt wind from SE and no significant swell. An all stations call was made and a good samaritan offered to assist.  At 1131hr the good samaritan had the vessel under tow and at 1202hr both boats were safely back in Opotiki Harbour. Many thanks to the good samaritan.
