Motor – 03/03/2016 – 10:56 to

A 6.5m fibreglass boat with 3 POB reported that it had engine problems and requested a tow back to port. The vessel was 2nm north of Kohi Point.  Sea conditions were good with 9-15kt wind from the east and no significant swell. At 1111hr Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist and was launched at 1135hr. At 1221hr the vessel was under tow and at 1240hr both boats were safely back in port.
