Engine problem – 01/02/2018 – 9:50 to 11:55

A boat reported 13nm North of the Whakatane Bar with an engine problem and requested a tow back to Whakatane.  There was a boat near to him that took him under tow.  Due to the distance to be travelled, Whakatane Rescue was tasked to take over the tow and both boats crossed the bar safely back into the harbour.  A big thank you to the Good Samaritan.
