Man Overboard – 01/07/2016 – 9:47 to

At 0947hr an off-duty Radio Operator noticed a person had fallen out of an inflatable boat while crossing the Whakatane Bar. The person in the water was waving frantically. An all stations alert was made and a good samaritan offered to help. At 0950hr the Whakatane Rescue crew were paged. At 0951hr the good samaritan located the missing person in the water and retrieved him and then the boat he had fallen from.  At 0955hr Whakatane Rescue was advised that the person was safe and stood down.
