A boat off the Thornton Bar reported mechanical problems and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue 2 was launched and proceeded to the scene. The stricken vessel was towed safely back to Whakatane.
A boat 4nm North of the Ohiwa Bar reported engine problems and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue 2 was launched and proceeded to the scene. The vessel was towed safely back into Ohiwa Harbour.
A boat reported 1km North of Kohi Pt with a fuel problem and requested a tow back to Whakatane. An All Stations call resulted in a vessel responding and the stricken vessel was towed back across the Whakatane bar. A big thank you to the Good Samaritan.
A tourist boat at Whale Is reported a person with a medical problem. Whakatane Rescue 2 was tasked to assist. A helicopter was also tasked. The patient was flown to Tauranga Hospital.
